Thriller Conventions.
In almost every thiller there is always music to suit the mood of what is going on e.g Tense erie music to suit a suspense filling scene. Quite frequently the audience is always intreigued but anxious about what is going to happen next. The aspect of mystery is supposed to keep the audience in the dark about important info, sinsister plots. The typical narrative structure is... Beggining- Normal, Middle- Disrupt by the evil character and the END- Build up to a tense climax, and the resoloution- The villain is killed/foiled. The main character usually tends to be the hero in the end but sometimes there may be a plot twist near to the end. Other conventions in thrillers are also Deception, Males villains and secrets revealed.
Red eye essay.
The film Red Eye is a thriller, mostly set on a plane. The foundation of the film is basic, one villain or a group of them and the hero, And inevitably the hero wins.
During the film the are many enigma codes throughout the film and these raise questions like, who? Why? What? ect. Enigma codes are very good to create suspense and tell the story in a mysterious way. The transformed city theory does not really fit into the whole plot because the majority of the film is set in a plane, but at the end they do transform a perfectly normal city into a warzone due to the hotel blowing up. The theory about heroic romance is in the film in the form of the woman who ends up becoming the hero. She is a normal woman with a very good job at a hotel then she is put into a very hard position. Another thing that is shown in the film is a lot of partial vision. Partial vision is used to show the significance of that certain object that is being filmed. Another theory that is in the film is, Question and answer. This is where the film asks the questions and the audience is led to answer it. This may give the sense that the audience is apart of the film.
